The Spirit of God dwells in every living creature and calls us to enter into a relationship with our creator. Discovering this presence leads us to cultivate the “ecological virtues.” This is the basis of our conviction that, as part of the universe, called into being by the Father, all of us are linked by unseen bonds and together form a kind of universal family, a communion which fills us with a sacred, affectionate, humble respect. God has joined us so closely that such issues as the desertifcation of the soil is almost a physical ailment for us and the extinction of a species as a painful disfigurement (-Laudato Si’ 88)
