2025 Easter Reflection from the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur

Sister Pat shares an Easter reflection centered on Jesus's message: "Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid." She explores how embracing diversity—across cultures, backgrounds, and ways of thinking—is essential to experiencing the peace Christ offers.

Lent 2025

This Lenten reflection from the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur invites us to see this season through the eyes of farmers preparing fields in winter. Rather than simply giving up chocolate or TV, discover how to actively till the soil of your spiritual life through prayer, kindness, and service to neighbors in need. Simple, practical suggestions for making Lent a time of genuine renewal as we prepare for Easter joy.

Christmas 2024

This Christmas, we reflect on the joy of affirming the goodness around us, inspired by Brad, a spirited first-grader whose role in a Nativity play was to clap, celebrating each moment of the story and signaling others to do the same. Like Brad, we are called to celebrate the gift of Jesus in our lives and to affirm others daily through gratitude, encouragement and love. This season, we celebrate you and the many ways you make God's goodness known.

Thanksgiving 2024

The Psalms remind us that thanksgiving responds to God's abundant and unreserved grace. You are one of those sources of goodness for the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. Your generosity brings the spirit of thanksgiving and joy to our community, making God's goodness a living reality in our lives. Your kindness reminds us of the Psalmist’s words: "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever." (Psalm 106:1)

All Souls' Day 2024

As we observe All Souls' Day, we are reminded of the profound power of prayer, especially for those who have passed. Today, we pray to God to bring each soul to the fullness of heavenly glory. Scripture promises, “You will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Through prayer, we humbly connect with God, not to inform but to entrust ourselves to His wisdom and compassion. Although we may not always receive the desired outcomes, prayer is about placing our trust in God’s plan and allowing His grace to work in ways beyond our understanding. On this special day, may our prayers bring grace to those we remember and help increase the “great cloud of witnesses” watching over us in heaven.

With you, we change lives

With the support of generous friends like you, we are able to continue our mission of educating and taking a stand with those in poverty— especially women and children.
