The Office of Mission Integration hosted an in-person formation program on Friday, October 3, at the Ohio Province Center. Twenty-two faculty and staff members from Badin, Chaminade Julienne, Mount Notre Dame and The Summit were welcomed to Amiens Hall for this formation opportunity on the theme, Living St. Julie’s Legacy.
This annual event designed for faculty and staff members of our Ohio regional schools enriches the participants’ understanding of their Notre Dame heritage as partners in mission. The workshop explored the life of St. Julie and Francoise, the development of the SNDdeN congregation, the commonalities of their own schools’ histories, the internationality of the congregation, and some of the justice issues in which the Sisters today are engaged. The group delved into the Hallmarks of a Notre Dame Learning Community, reflecting on personal and professional applications.
All enjoyed lunch and conversation with several Sisters as well as a visit to the Heritage Hallway and Museum. Participants left with a challenge to determine how they might carry the charism of St. Julie as they return to their individual Notre Dame schools.
