Celebrating Black Catholic History Month

Celebrating Black Catholic History Month

On the last Sunday of November 2023, Dr. Shannen Dee Williams, Associate Professor of History at the University of Dayton and author of Subversive Habits: Black Catholic Nuns in the Long African American Freedom Struggle, celebrated Black Catholic History Month at Holy Name Church in Dayton, OH. She mentioned the honor of being in communion with Sister Teresita Weind, SNDdeN, the first African American to lead a global congregation of Catholic Sisters.

She permitted us to share the photos.
