In April, sixteen seniors from Chaminade Julienne’s Faith Leadership course, FLIGHT, travelled to the Mount Notre Dame Province Center and enjoyed a packed visit.
Through a presentation led by Archivist, Jennifer Winkler, the students learned about the influence of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Dayton, and their own school’s rich history. Donna Groene, Director of Mission Integration tagged in to share the charism of St. Julie and the SNDdeN with an interactive reflection.
The highlight of the visit was the interaction with four Sisters - Sr. Nancy Wellmeier, Sr. Ruth Bedinghaus, Sr. Judi Clemens, Sr. Rita Sturwold. The students were invited to ask questions to our panel of Sisters and wonderful discussions took place, especially related to vocations and religious life. Following the large group panel, the Sisters were treated to lunch and valuable, smaller lunch table conversations took place.
Of course, no visit would be complete without a stop in the Heritage Hallway, where students explored the rich history of the Ohio Province!
Special thank you to CJ Campus Ministers, Patrick Burns and Timothy Hosford for coordination of the experience.
