Conversations with the Sisters: Sisters visited the sixth grader class at the Summit Country Day School

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023 several Sisters traveled to The Summit Country Day School for a full day of activities presented by the students. This idea began several years ago when Mr. Brendan McEachern, 6th grade teacher, wanted his students to interview Sisters, here at Mt. Notre Dame for a class project.

This year, the event was moved to the school so that more students would have time with the sisters. The activities included: a concert by the Upper School band, visit to the lower school and Capstone presentations by the 7th grade students. The sisters who participated included: Sisters Mary Ann Barnhorn, Jo Depweg, Colette Didier, Ruth Myers, Marie Romejko, Rita Sturwold and Stephanie Thompson.

A highlight of the day was the interviews with the 6th grade students, who had been researching the original 8 Sisters who traveled from Namur to Cincinnati as part of a month-long writing project. When the interviews and subsequent compositions were complete, each sister received a copy of the stories they had written. The sisters and students benefited from this wonderful experience.
