Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in Ohio have restructured a key area of province operations to focus on mission advancement.
The Development Office has been rebranded as Mission Advancement to better reflect department responsibilities that include communications, volunteer engagement and donor relations. Gina Huiet, formerly the Associate Director of Development, was promoted to Director of Mission Advancement following a brief period as interim director.
“Gina has worked in our Development Office since 2019 and has proven herself to be an effective strategist, fundraiser and leader,” says Donna Wisowaty, SNDdeN, provincial. “She has the education and experience to ensure the mission advancement team is successful and thriving, and we are thrilled she is committed to continuing her career with Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.”
As the head of the department, Huiet leads a team charged with securing financial resources that support the international mission of Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. In the current fiscal year, the department has raised nearly $5 million and is more than halfway to meeting a $1.5 million goal earmarked for capital improvements to the Mount Notre Dame Health Center. Her staff also oversees all print and digital communications support for the province and provides opportunities for community volunteers to serve alongside the sisters.
Huiet says she is “energized” about taking the department in a new direction.
“The mission of the sisters worldwide is to make known God’s goodness,” she says, “and I’m honored to contribute toward that goal. Everything we do in the Mission Advancement Office is centered around supporting the sisters and building meaningful connections with our friends and supporters. It’s truly life-changing work.”
Huiet’s education includes a master’s degree in business administration from Lakeland University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wilmington College where she played on the women’s basketball team. She has 13 years of experience in the development field and an additional 10 years of coaching at the high school and college level. Huiet resides in Harrison with her husband and three children.
