Ohio Province's New Leadership Team

Ohio Province's New Leadership Team

A new team of three Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur will lead the Ohio Province for the next five years following a discernment process and selection by their peers. The team will serve until 2029.

Effective June 14, the provincial leader is Donna Wisowaty, SNDdeN. She was born in Hammond, Indiana, and raised in Calumet City, Illinois, with her three siblings. Sister Donna made her final vow profession in 1988. She holds a master's degree in gerontology from Miami University (Oxford) and a bachelor's degree in social work from Xavier University (Cincinnati). She is a board-certified nursing home administrator. Donna's career with SNDdeN has included serving as administrator at Mount Notre Dame Health Center in Reading, director of social services at Bayley Place, social worker at Clifton Care Center and ombudsman specialist at Pro Seniors.

Joining Donna on the leadership team are Kim Dalgarn, SNDdeN, and Kristin Matthes, SNDdeN.

Sister Kim was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and made her final profession of vows in 1988. She earned a master's degree in pastoral counseling from Emmanuel College (Boston) and a bachelor's degree in religious studies from the University of Dayton. Before serving as the Ohio Province archivist from 2013-23, Kim held roles with the congregational mission office and the national vocation team. She was also a teacher in Zimbabwe and in Ohio at Chaminade Julienne High School and Mount Notre Dame High School.

Born in Orlando, Florida, and raised in a family of seven, Sister Kristin originally joined Sisters of Notre Dame Coesfeld in Toledo, Ohio. She transferred affiliation to Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1997 and completed her final vow profession in 2000. Kristin has a master's degree in theology from Xavier University (Cincinnati) and both a master's in education and a bachelor's in education from Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green). She previously served on the Ohio Province leadership team from 2015-2000. Her other roles have included faith formation, facilitation and life coaching, and young adult and vocation ministry. As a teacher, she worked at schools in Cincinnati, Lawrence, Mass., and New Orleans.

Stepping down from leadership on June 14, having served through the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges, are Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Kathleen Harmon, the provincial, and her teammates Donna Jurick and Pat Loome. Among their accomplishments during their term is commissioning extensive research with an outside contractor as phase one of imagining the future of the province operations and property.
