Dear Friends
The Sacred Heart of Jesus reminds us that divine love is not measured or restrained. It is poured out—faithful, patient, and enduring even when it is not returned.
“… God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Who can truly fathom the love God has for each of us? He is our creator, our Father, our brother and our inspiration. Paul says to the Romans, and to us,
“What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? ... Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:35,37
Fr. Thomas Dailey, author of Behold This Heart: St. Francis de Sales and Devotion to the Sacred Heart), said: “Jesus has a heart just like you and I do. That heart loves just as yours and mine does! That heart breaks; that heart, poured out in love for humanity, is the ultimate sign of God’s love for human beings.”
When we remember Jesus’ profound sacrifice and unwavering love, we can be sure of His guidance, support and presence no matter what is going on around us.
“…If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8: 31
This is our amazing God! Take comfort and courage in God’s word. Let His love permeate your heart. Our call, like His, is to be light for the world—to love and serve others in a world that desperately needs Jesus.
As the U.S. Bishops prepare to dedicate our country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, let us pray for the conversion of our country and its people. Let each of us do our part by sharing God’s love with the people we meet each day.
May God bless us all and unite us as one in Him.
Blessings,

Sister Mary Ann Barnhorn, SNDdeN
“I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
