Reflections of God's Goodness
“God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.”
We are not lumped together with everything and everyone God created. He knows each of us by name, and loves us with a love that draws us in. He is a caring God and He is interested in every detail of our lives. There is nothing that we cannot bring to Him.
“God’s unfailing love for us is an objective fact affirmed over and over in the Scriptures. It is true whether we believe it or not. Our doubts do not destroy God’s love, nor does our faith create it. It originates in the very nature of God, who is love, and it flows to us through our union with His beloved Son.” (Jerry Bridges, Christian evangelical author)
St. Paul believes, and I do too, that “…neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
If we can begin to understand and experience God’s amazing love for us, this New Year will be unlike any other! We really already know how to do it. We need to commit regular quiet time each day to be with Jesus.
God invites us to quiet our mind and seek Him and His presence.
I pray with St. Paul, for all of us “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him” Ephesians 1:17
Pope Francis says, “God’s love changes lives, renews history, liberates us from evil, and fills hearts with peace and joy.” (Homily, Midnight Mass, 2019)
What more could we ask for as we continue to celebrate His birth!
“The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior; He will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, He will sing joyfully because of you. . . .”
Blessings and peace,
