Reflections of God's Goodness
As the world around us seems to be spiraling out of control and we see so many things that do not seem to make sense, it is sometimes difficult not to give into fear. As people of faith, we know that God sees us. He sees our loneliness and our fears, our sufferings, and our frustrations. His Word tells us over and over, do not be afraid.
We are all tired of Covid19! We cannot be tired of one another.
Jesus says,
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves.”
Certainly, Covid19 is a burden for so many, and we need the rest only Jesus can provide. No matter where we are in our relationship with God, He desires us to come closer to Him. His grace and mercy is endless. “So, let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help.” Hebrews 4:16
Our world, our nation and our cities need our prayers now. God instructs us to bear each other’s burdens and urges that “supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone . . .” 1 Timothy 2:1
Together, let us intercede for doctors, nurses, first responders, for mothers and fathers and families. Pray for those who have died and those who are mourning and those who are sick. Pray for those who are living in fear and those whose anger erupts into violence. Pray for those living in neighborhoods full of violence, and those without income. Pray for government leaders, national and local. Pray for yourselves and your friends and families
“I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”
So, my prayer for you is that you will continue reaching out to one another and reaching out to God each day. Even when we cannot feel His presence, our faith assures us God is there drawing us to Himself day after day.
