WALK WITH JESUS IN JERUSALEM - What Lessons Can We Learn Today From His Encounters in this City?

Presented by Father John Quigley, OFM

Jerusalem is a sacred place for Jews and Christians. It was a focal point for Jesus' awareness and teaching. There was something magnetic about the city that drew Jesus and his disciples into its intrigue and destiny. What was that mysterious pull for him and what are the lessons that we can learn today from his encounters in the city?

Father John Quigley, OFM, is an artist, administrator, pastor and preacher. He recently returned to Cincinnati from Europe where he was coordinator of the peace and justice efforts of the Franciscan Friars (Rome, 10 years) and director of Franciscan efforts to promote and protect human rights (United Nations in Geneva, 12 years). Originally from London, Ontario, he joined the Franciscan Friars (St. John Baptist Province) in 1964 and studied in Detroit, Dayton, and at Mt. St. Mary’s in Cincinnati. After his ordination, John served as a member of the pastoral team with the New Jerusalem community (1974-1980), Jesuit Renewal Center (ASPC Program, 1980-1983), and director of the Franciscan Justice and Peace office in Cincinnati (1982-1989). John lives in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati where he has an art studio.
