WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? The Jesus of History and the Christ of Faith

February 5

10:00 am

A day for women and men led by Brennan Hill, Ph.D.

Registration: 9:15 a.m. — 9:55 a.m.
Registration is required by January 27, 2011.

Cost is $25. Lunch is included.

There is a distinction between the Jesus of history (Jesus as he lived and died) and the Christ of faith (Jesus as he was understood and believed in after his resurrection). On this day, we will look at the Jesus of history: his times, the people around him, what life was like then, and the kind of person he was. We will look deep within the gospels, at archeology and history and search to better understand the life and death of this young rustic carpenter, teacher and healer.

Brennan Hill, Ph.D., is married to Marie Hill, a marriage counselor and mediator. They have two grown children and three grand girls. Brennan studied at St. Bonaventure University, Catholic University of America, Cambridge, and Marquette University. He taught high school, college and adults for 45 years and is now Professor Emeritus at Xavier University. He has published 24 books and is now working on text for McGraw-Hill on Discovering World Religions: Their Connect with Ecology, Peace and Women’s Issues. He is a cook at the Catholic Worker House and minister for Hospice of Cincinnati.
