Jesus saw the burdens weighing upon the hearts of his disciples and he said, “Blessed are the poor, blessed are you hungry, blessed are you who weep. Your reward will be great.”
It is comforting to know that our God is in touch with our hearts and as the Psalm says, “You even know when we sit and when we stand.” (Psalm 139)
Lord God, you understand the struggles of ordinary folks. You lived among them as a carpenter’s son. You are indeed one of us and with us.
