Reflections of God's Goodness
When we were children, we wore new outfits for Easter. We didn’t know the reason then, but we do now! Easter is about new life and our new clothes were in harmony with the season – an outward sign of our new life in Christ. They were a symbol of resurrection.
Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! And so, we live too. We can be sure that the promised resurrection is ours – today and into eternal life. Jesus’ Resurrection makes a difference every day.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1Peter1:3
Pope Benedict XVI said,
“the one who has hope lives differently: the one who hopes has been
granted the gift of new life.”
This new life brings awareness of God’s presence with us, right where we are. God has built resurrection into all of creation for us to see and experience. Year after year, winter comes and spring follows! We plant seeds and flowers grow. Trouble comes into our lives, and then joy returns. God’s grace and mercy continually work to bring good out of our struggles and sadness. Through it all, faith grows and hope becomes stronger.
This Easter season, let’s open our eyes to new possibilities in our lives and relationships. Look for a new perspective. Here are few things to try to give you a new view:
- Expect the best from others.
- Focus on the present moment.
- Try something new.
- Try to see the light side of life.
- Look for life-giving ways to respond to every situation.
May the good God bless your efforts to see the world and your life through eyes of faith and hope. Happy Easter!

“May the eyes of your hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to His call, what are the riches of glory in His inheritance among the holy ones.”
