Beginning October 26, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur invite you to join them in a novena leading up to Election Day.

Through these nine days of prayer, we will continue our prayer for voters and all the candidates who seek to govern us. We also pray that all will be allowed to vote freely, that no violence will take place at polling sites and after the election, and that there will be an honest and fair result.

EVENING PRAYER

READING
Brothers and sisters: Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus, Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself ... and, found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.  Phil. 2: 5-8

A WORD FROM ST. JULIE
We must steadfastly ask the good God for patience and courage.  Without this we should be very poor Sisters of Notre Dame—very poor indeed.

SILENT REFLECTION

OUR FATHER

CLOSING PRAYER

Merciful and loving God,  we praise and thank you for your presence and action in our world.
Draw us close to you in prayer as we look to you for wisdom and guidance in these days prior to the election and beyond.
Help us to remember that amid conflict and division it is you who turn our minds to thoughts of peace.
Send your Spirit to change hearts so that enemies begin to speak to one another, those who are estranged join hands in friendship, and nations seek the way of peace together.

Enable us to see that your Spirit is at work when understanding puts an end to strife, when hatred is quenched by mercy, and vengeance gives way to forgiveness.
Inspire all of us to treat one another, especially the most vulnerable, with dignity and respect, as we try to participate in building your kingdom of love, justice, and peace.
Through Christ our Lord.
