175TH ANNIVERSARY DAYTON - Mass & Reception
Sisters Notre Dame de Namur will mark the congregation's 175th year of service in this country on October 31. Events are being held across the country to commemorate this important milestone. In Dayton, a special Mass and reception will take place at St. Helen on October 4 in observance of the anniversary.

Sisters of Notre Dame began teaching in Dayton in 1849, and have been educators in 16 Dayton area schools since then. Those schools include Emmanuel Parish School, Holy Trinity Parish School, St. Mary Parish School, Holy Rosary (Our Lady of the Rosary) Parish School, St. John Parish School, Holy Angels Parish School, Holy Family Parish School, St. Agnes Parish School, St. James Parish School, St. Rita Parish School, Immaculate Conception Parish School, St. Helen Parish School, Ascension Parish School and Carroll High School.
In addition, Sisters of Notre Dame built and owned Notre Dame Academy and Julienne High School in Dayton. Along with the Society of Mary, Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur also own and operate Chaminade-Julienne High School.
