MORNINGS OF SPIRITUALITY FOR WOMEN - Dorothy Day: Faith in Action
DOROTHY DAY: FAITH IN ACTION
Led by Bill Lonneman
What comes to mind when you think of Dorothy Day? Faithfulness, conscientious action and compassion —she was a model of 20th century Catholicism, a woman who loved deeply, a prophetess who spoke and witnessed the truth, both to the church and the state. We will explore together a few of the patterns in her spirituality, reflecting on her relevance for our lives.
Bill Lonneman has been active in social justice issues and served on the Social Action Commission of the Archdiocese under Archbishops Bernadin and Pilarczyk. He and his wife, Julie, raised two daughters in the city as part of the New Jerusalem Community. They have helped organize Muslim-Christian dialogues for the past five years with the Franciscans Network. Bill works as an assistant professor of nursing at the College of Mount St. Joseph.
