Tips for Table Host

1. What does it take to be a good Table Host?

You do not need to be a great sales person to be a good Table Host.

All you need is a passion for our cause, a little time here and there to contact potential guests, and some knowledge of the event. We already know you have the passion, and you probably have a little time because you said yes, so now we want to provide more information and tips to make your job easier.

2. What to say (some suggested wording) when inviting guests

“Hello, __________. As you know the Sisters of Notre Dame are special friends of mine. I think they are doing great things. I’d like to invite you to join me at my table for a free luncheon they are having on Thursday, May 10th at the Cintas Center on Xavier University’s campus at 12:00 noon. It is free and it will only be one hour long. During lunch, you will be treated to a creative presentation covering what the Sisters are doing today.

They call it “Partners in Action” because the Sisters are looking for individuals who want to be partners in their work. You will be asked to consider making a contribution; but, there is no minimum and no maximum gift requested. It will be the job of the Sisters to inspire people to want to give. We simply want people to come and hear about the good work they are doing in our city. I would be delighted if you could join me.

3. Once your guest says “Yes”.

Enter their name and address into your table form on The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur’s web site. (www.sndohio.org\Partners-In-Action.cfm). For step by step instructions on using these forms, refer to the document “Entering Guest Information into Table Host Form”. We will generate and mail confirmation postcards based on the information you enter.

Please have all names entered into the web form no later than April 20, 2012.

We also ask you to place a friendly reminder call to all your guests one week before the event to reconfirm their attendance.

4. What if this is easier than I thought?

We wouldn’t be surprised. Sometimes asking people for support can be hard, but we believe that after you get a few confirmed guests, you will easily fill your table in no time at all. However, if you get stuck or need some support, please contact us anytime.
