FRANCIS OF ASSISI: A RENEWAL OF LIFE
A day for women and men
Led by John Quigley, OFM
Cost is $25. Lunch is included.
Registration and payment are required by September 26, 2012.
Rather than being frozen in stone, St. Francis of Assisi can be a living, forceful challenge for our life in Christ today. Francis points our direction to Jesus Christ, his living Lord and companion. This day will be an investigation into the connections between Francis and Jesus and how their spirituality can nourish us. John Quigley will reflect on some writings of a few followers of St. Francis to gain insight into the saint’s life.
John Quigley, OFM, is an artist, administrator, pastor and preacher. He recently returned to Cincinnati from Europe where he was coordinator of the peace and justice efforts of the Franciscan Friars (Rome, 10 years) and director of Franciscan efforts to promote and protect human rights (United Nations in Geneva, 12 years). Originally from London, Ontario, he joined the Franciscan Friars (St. John Baptist province) in 1964 and studied in Detroit, Dayton and Mt. St. Mary’s in Cincinnati. After his ordination, John served with the New Jerusalem community, the Jesuit Renewal Center and as Director of the Franciscan Justice and Peace Office in Cincinnati. John lives in Over-the-Rhine (Cincinnati) where he also has an art studio.
