OUR MINISTRIES
What do Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur do ?
We teach in schools. Serve as pastoral associates and directors of religious
education. Tutor. Lecture in universities. Write educational materials. Direct community
action programs. Tutor English as a Second Language (ESL). Build houses for low-income families. Minister as chaplains and in health
care settings. These are just some of our ministries.
Education is a component of each of our ministries. We are, and
have always been, educators, in every sense of that word. We know that it is through the
power of education that people can change their lives. Like our foundress, St. Julie, we
direct our work to help the poor, especially poor women and children. Some sisters work
with the poor in unfunded or underfunded ministries through financial support from our Ministry Fund
.
Ministries of the Ohio Province include: Education
Social service and counseling
