Sisters Notre Dame de Namur will mark the congregation's 175th year of service in this country on October 31. Events are being held across the country to commemorate this important milestone. In Baltimore, a special Mass and reception will take place at St. Ursula on October 10 in observance of the anniversary.

Sisters of Notre Dame began teaching in Baltimore in 1934, and have been educators in 14 Baltimore area schools since then. Those schools include Trinity School in Ellicott City; St. Ursula Parish School, Our Lady of Victory Parish School and Sisters Academy in Baltimore; St. Jerome Parish School in Hyattsville; Maryvale in Brooklandville; St. Mary Parish School/Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Ilchester; Villa Julie College (Stevenson University) in Stevenson; Little Flower Parish School in Great Mills; St. Camillus Parish School in Silver Spring; Holy Trinity/Arthur Slade Regional Catholic School and Holy Trinity High School in Glen Burnie; St. Joseph Parish School in Beltsville; St. Philip Neri Parish School in Linthicum; and Martin Spaulding High School in Severn.
